Accessing the VIAME Web instance in GCP

The following pages walk through the process of accessing and logging into the SEFSC VIAME Web instance in GCP, called “VIAME Cloud” hereafter. Confidential information is redacted and secured behind valid credential login.

Preliminaries

VIAME Cloud is built using infrastructure as a service (IAAS) and includes storage and virtual machines. Access to all resources is restricted to only those who need it (least privilege access). Accordingly, all users of the SEFSC VIAME Web need to be pre-approved and granted necessary permission by SEFSC Information Technology (IT).

Currently only NOAA employees with a valid NOAA email address will be able to be granted access permissions.

It will take time for everyone involved (both users and IT) to learn what permissions are needed for each user. Patience is appreciated.
